NOTES FROM THE COMMANDER
As many of you remember, for many years the post used a key card access system to enter the building. Over the last few years, we have neglected this process and are now re instituting it again. Effective Monday, August 19th, all members will be required to access the building with a new key card. So, as long as you are a member in good standing, please stop by the post and your key will be at the bar.
A $.50 'fine' will be imposed for those that need to be buzzed into the post. All guests will be able to sign in to a guest book three times only before they will be asked to join the post as a member. It will cost $5.00 to replace any lost cards, but all fees and fines will go to support local veterans!
For any members also in Lonnie's football pool, the additional fee you pay him will be reimbursed to you by Rick Mullins, our bar manager.
FYI; on Tuesday, August 27th, the post will hold a long overdue community meeting. We are inviting the neighbors from the immediate area around the post to stop in for a short informational meeting to address any concerns they might have about our club. Feel free to stop in that night if you are nearby.
I would also like to invite each of you to an afternoon luncheon on September 14th from 4 to 7pm. The luncheon is to recognize our long time post members and touch bases with some of your past VFW comrades.
Our first meeting after the summer will still be held on September 16th at 7pm and our quarterly meeting will be on October 21st at 7pm.
Sincerely,
Kim F. Emerling
